Birth Injury and Medical Malpractice Attorney | Cleveland

Representing individuals and families throughout Ohio and nationwide

At the law offices of Frank Piscitelli Co., L.P.A., located in Cleveland, Ohio, we offer skilled and supportive legal representation to help individuals and families throughout Ohio and the United States. Our firm’s primary focus is on representing people who have suffered a catastrophic injury and require legal help in order to obtain treatment and compensation for their life-altering loss.

We represent a broad spectrum of people, from families of modest means to those of considerable wealth. Medical malpractice does not discriminate on the basis of socio-economic status. It can happen to anyone.

If you hire our firm, we will live your case. We care deeply about the people we serve. We will spend the time to get to know you and your family so that we can tell the jury your story.

Our practice areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Retinopathy of Prematurity. ROP is a condition that affects premature babies weighing less than 2 3/4 pounds at birth. ROP requires careful screening, follow-up and timely treatment. Experts agree that if properly managed, ROP rarely results in a child being blinded because of ROP. When a child ends up blind because of ROP, more often than not it is because the condition was mismanaged by the medical providers. Neonatal intensive care units are required to have policies in place to prevent these babies from missing critical eye exams. They are also required to employ a physician experienced and knowledgable about ROP, or transfer your baby to a facility that has the qualified personnel. If your child was born prematurely and is blind, and you suspect that the ROP was not properly managed, call us for a free consultation. We will get you the answer you from qualified ROP experts.
  • Cerebral Palsy. Medical mistakes are a known cause of cerebral palsy. Often time, families do not know what happened and rarely will a health care provider or hospital admit mistakes. Unfortunately, all too often, there will be efforts to cover up the mistakes. If you suspect that your child has cerebral palsy because of medical mismanagement, call us. We will get you the answer you deserve.
  • Erb's Palsy is a loss of movement in the arm due to damage of the nerves around the shoulder. It is most often the result of a birth injury. There are many things your physician can do to minimize the risk of Erb's Palsy. This condition is usually the result of medical mismanagement. If your case qualified, we will have it reviewed by qualified experts to get the answer to the question: could this have been prevented?
  • Water Park Accidents and Amusement Park Injuries. Amusement parks, water parks and swimming pools may be fun and exciting but they can also be dangerous and deadly, especially to young visitors. Amusement parks are required to warn visitors of dangers they know or should know about. All too often Amusement Parks are aware of dangers associated with the normal operation of their rides, but they do not warn visitors about these dangers. These parks are also required to design safe rides, properly maintain the rides and inspect the rides for dangerous conditions. If you or a loved one has been seriously injured due to the negligence of a Water Park or Amusement Park, call us. If your case qualifies, we will have it reviewed by one of the country's foremost experts in this area.
  • Dangerous Products. Our experience includes investigating claims and prosecuting claims involving injuries from prescription drugs, injuries from exposure to welding fumes and mesothelioma from exposure to asbestosis.
  • Day Care Injuries. Both commercial and in-home day care providers are required to properly supervise your child and avoid exposing your child to an unreasonable risk of harm. In a recent day care accident case, we won compensation for the family of a toddler injured while under the supervision of an at-home day care provider who left the child unattended in a bathroom.
  • Medical Malpractice. Our medical malpractice experience includes cases ranging from failure to diagnose, wrongful death, and nursing home neglect. Medical malpractice cases are vigorously defended by the insurance industry, which has unlimited resources and experts at their disposal. In a recent case, our persistence and aggressive advocacy allowed us to discover that a defendant-physician altered the patient's medical records to cover up negligence.
  • Consumer Fraud and Bad Faith Insurance. Businesses are obligated to treat customers fairly. In the case of insurance, bad faith occurs when companies fail to honor their obligations. If an insurance company, investment firm, utility or manufacturer of a consumer product has defrauded you, call us. We have the experience and resources to fight for you-the consumer.
